Sydney Dietitian Nutritionist Melissa Meier

Hi! My name is Melissa and I'm a Sydney-based Accredited Practising Dietitian with a love of healthy, delicious food. I'm passionate about helping others to lead healthier lives and teaching people to use nutrition to better their health. My nutrition philosophy revolves around real, wholefoods and finding balance - free from fads and so-called super foods.

I have a background in sport, having completed a Bachelor of Applied Science (Exercise and Sport Science) before moving on to study my Master of Nutrition and Dietetics, both at The University of Sydney.

I run a private practice located in Kirrawee in the Sutherland Shire and also offer Skype consults. I am interested in a range of areas in dietetics including diabetes, heart health, food allergies and intolerance, children's nutrition, weight loss and general healthy eating for wellbeing. I am particularly interested in Coeliac Disease, having lived with the condition for almost ten years myself.

I thoroughly enjoy writing about nutrition and am heavily involved in nutrition journalism - it's a great outlet that combines my love of healthy eating with my creative side. I'm the resident dietitian at Healthy Food Guide magazine and a regular contributor to myBody+Soul, and often provide commentary and expert advice to other media outlets as well.

I am also an experienced nutrition consultant and love to work on large corporate projects and give nutrition presentations.

As an avid foodie, there's nothing I love more than eating tasty, nourishing food and developing healthy recipes. On the weekend, you're likely to find me at a beachside cafe, cooking up a storm in my kitchen or making beautiful, healthy platters to share with my friends and family.
